A Special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lakewood, N.Y., was held Monday, April 19, 2021, 9:00 AM, through Zoom.us with Mayor Randall G. Holcomb presiding. Trustees present through Zoom were Ellen E. Barnes, Edward J. McCague, Douglas L. Schutte and R. Richard Fischer. Also present were Village Clerk Mary B. Currie and Village Treasurer Apryl L. Troutman. Absent were Village Attorney John I. LaMancuso, Police Chief Christopher A. DePonceau, Department of Public Works Supervisor Thomas R. Pilling, Fire Chief Kurt Hallberg and Building Inspector Jeffrey A. Swanson.
Mayor Randall Holcomb explained the reason for the special meeting is to set a time and date to conduct a public hearing on the Village of Lakewood’s tentative budget for the fiscal year, June 1, 2021 – May 31, 2022.
RESOLUTION #74-2021 – SET TIME AND DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING
Motion by Trustee Fischer, seconded by Trustee Barnes, to set 6:45 PM, Monday, April 26, 2021, as the time and date for the Board of Trustees to conduct a public hearing on the Village of Lakewood’s Tentative Budget for the fiscal year of June 1, 2021 – May 31, 2022.
Adopted: 4 ayes, no nays (Barnes, Fischer, McCague, Schutte)
Mayor Holcomb said he received an e-mail from Village Attorney John I. LaMancuso saying he has been in contact with Lockwood Insurance Company in regards to the question of Steve Johnson being added to the Lakewood Fire Company’s Certificate of Insurance for the LAROW dock on Harlem Ave.
Mr. LaMancuso said he has not yet heard back from the Lockwood Agency but hopes to have an answer by the regular scheduled meeting on April 26, 2021.
Mayor Holcomb asked if each of the Trustees would please send any amendments they would like to make to his budget to all of the Board Members before the meeting on April 26, 2021. He would like everyone to have a chance to look them over ahead of time.
Mayor Holcomb took a moment to sadly note that longtime volunteer fireman, James N. Decker died this past Friday, (April 16, 2021). As its driver, Mr. Decker took great pride in the restoration and upkeep of the LFD’s 1915 Ford Model-T antique fire truck. Our sincere condolences go out to Mr. Decker’s family and the LFD.
Motion by Trustee Schutte, seconded by Trustee McCague and unanimously carried to adjourn the special meeting of the Board of Trustees at 9:07 AM.
