Clean Energy

Lakewood has embraced Clean Energy.  You will find 2 recharging stations for your electric or hybrid vehicles at the Village Hall on Summit Avenue and 2 at the Busti Town Hall on Chautauqua Avenue.  These stations are available to the public 24 hours a day. They are maintained by the AeroVironment network and has 0 DC Fast Charger(s) (DCFC), 2 Level 2 port(s) (J1772).

The Lakewood Comprehensive Plan has a Dark Sky compliant direction for all street lights and commercial buildings. The goal is to make Lakewood a leader in Chautauqua County for Clean Energy.

Lakewood’s NYSERDA grant will retrofit our streetlights with new LED energy efficient bulbs mounted in Dark Skies compliant fixtures per the Comprehensive Plan.

In addition, Lakewood’s NYSERDA grant will also provide an energy audit of all of our municipal buildings.  This audit will provide critical information for the care and maintenance of our municipal buildings.

Many homes and businesses in Lakewood have already installed solar panels for clean energy.
