The Village of Lakewood has a vision of the future based on its new Comprehensive Plan. The vision is for a dynamic and sustainable community that will be the leader in clean energy, watershed control, recreation, walk-ability, historic preservation, and socially responsive government. 

This vision is based on resident feedback to multiple surveys and focus groups – Lakewood’s residents have spoken and spoken loudly. They want a environmentally clean village, a village where walking and cycling is safe and fun, where summer concerts and sports are available to everyone, where homes are maintained and preserved, where history matters and is respected but the future is looked forward to and anticipated. Where both small and big businesses stand side by side on Chautauqua Avenue and Fairmount Avenue.
